Postgis Raster Plugin For Quantum GIS

چکیده

This article describes a graphic tool implementation to upload and visualize raster data stored in a PostgreSQL database with PostGIS extension. The implementation was done as a Quantum GIS plugin called WktRaster, released as an open source software. The plugin is one of the earliest efforts to explore raster data storage, visualization and processing using the PostGIS Raster extension in a Geographic Information Systems’ environment. The main goal is to assist users in exploring the database design flexibility that PostGIS raster type introduces.
